vintage rose in vanilla

Here are a few photos taken in the studio last week from The Vintage Rose Collection in Vanilla. This collection works well through all the seasons as you can really work with the font and the colour of the font to create a collection personal to you. Vanilla & Lime , Vanilla & Turquoise, Vanilla & Flamenco Pink can all look perfect for that summer wedding........

the french patisserie

...thought this might interest those of you who are considering quite a dramatic theme. 'The French Patisserie' works wonderfully especially here where they have teamed their theme with a collection of strong tones of pink. Kristin & Chris have recreated a pattiserie cafe for the setting for their wedding reception...so just think with a little imagination and creative flair.............................

..............by the way - talking about french food you must go and see the film Julie & Julia, lots of 'vintage Parisian styling' alongside an 'eclectic Brooklyn apartment' and it makes you want to rush home and reconnect with your passion to cook and bake, bake and cook........and the eccentric portrayal of the famous cook Julia Child by Meryl Streep is simply captivating during every watching minute....... http://www.julieandjulia.com/

in the shade

Apologies, as I know it is hard to think about the warmth of the sun on your face, the heat of the day, the perfect mid day light filtering through the trees - but for those of you marrying next year then it is time to place those thoughts at the forefront of your mind and start planning, planning, planning....2010 is only around the corner and the months are warming up even earlier in the year. Here is the first idea of several that will be posted over the next few months on little twists to add to that summer wedding! We love the idea of having bright paper and fabric parasols to shelter your guests from the sun shine, even more perfect if you are marrying abroad...

These vintage parasols and umbrellas in tones of terracotta are perfect with the powder blue and would look great in photos for autumn and winter weddings....

grandma's sewing box

As usual my weekend starts on a Saturday evening.....just packing away the last remnants of the day. It is a very rare occasion that we produce favour boxes but we loved the idea of these so much that we couldn't do anything but agree to go ahead. The clients brief was 'my grandma's sewing box', and inside the favour boxes are vintage styled sewing kits, one type for ladies and an other for the gentlemen, that she has made herself and each one contains a personal message to each guest.
"Where do you find the time?" I hear you ask - well - she actually started making them 12 months ago. So if your wedding is still a date in the distance, start planning and make your favour gifts ready for next year....you will then also have time to write little individual notes to each of your guests, making them feel even more special in sharing your special day.....
The favour boxes also doubled up as place card and we stamped the table number on each....remember to email if you would like to discuss any ideas you may have

all in the detail

...It's been a great week for talking to clients and enquirers regarding their ideas for their 2010 weddings, and I must say it has been inspiring listening to lots of interesting ideas that have given food for thought for how we can use the collections in different ways to compliment their styling. So I promised I would post some images that reflected some of the ideas that were discussed.......

..simple twist to the normal guest book. Have your guests write their personal messages on hand made paper, here they have asked their guests to write what they think 'Love is to them ...' and then peg them out to read...you could then package them away in a simple box and bring out to read every anniversary...

....layers and layers of florals...

...hand made vintage lace head band...source the lace and make your own!

...ice clear glassware against rustic findings for a natural elegant edge...

...natural tones of grey and sage with hand picked bouquets....

...for those of you who can remember the 'Bratt Pack' of the 80's this look is sooo
'Pretty in Pink'...

...bridesmaid dresses with interesting vintage prints and frills, perfect for the tea party twist (love the different coloured ribbon sashes)...

... brightly embroidered table cloths and randomly positioned vintage chairs with florals that appear to be arranged in a more spontaneous and impulsive way, as if just freshly picked from the garden...

...vintage glassware, hydrangaes and peonies.....

french corsage with a natural twist

Just wanted to post these images so that you can see how you can incorporate a theme using one or more of the collections. These stationery pieces combine the French Corsage Collection with the theme of 'natural objects', email me if you would like prices or to discuss ideas of your own.......

ready for the autumnal months ahead

...I have been running around all week from day to day, starting to look at the images for the new collections ready for their introduction to the web site in November as well as the normal running of the studio...the new designs are starting to infiltrate through into the wedding magazines which is wonderful news and its great to receive positive feedback from those of you that have been requesting sample packs of late. The french corsage collection is a favourite this year particularly in vintage gold and chalk, some of you have even mixed the colours which has been fantastic to work with. For example, selections have been made where the placecards are a mix of vintage gold for the gentlemen and linen for the ladies, we have also produced mixes of the porcelain collection this month in oatmeal & blue and handpainted slate. So have a look at the site and see how you could select your own personal eclectic mix. The blossom and rose collections work well together particular of you are trying to achieve a county garden theme.
...here are a few images of the porcelain and fauna collection and a further glimpe at the new linear collection.....

linear collection

...its been a busy week, as usual, and I've just finished the last sample pack and it's finally time to close the studio door and let the weekend start, even though it is a Saturday. Currently working on images for the web site update at the beginning of November where the new collections for 2010 and 2011 will be launched. We are now starting to notice in the studio that the colder seasons are arriving as the collections we are working on for clients become more rustic and wintry in colour.

Enjoy the weekend.............
